Why Use V-Guide Technology
Integral V™ runs along a precision machined anodized aluminum rail with high-speed V-wheel cam rollers. These V-wheels excel in several types of applications; including contaminated, high speed/acceleration, and unrestricted travel scenarios.
Contaminated Environments – V-wheels easily roll through dirt, dust and other contaminants without stalling or slipping off track.
Smooth & Quiet – V-Wheel technology uses ground and finished running surfaces along with precision dual-row angular contact wheels for assured level and silent travel—even in high speed and load applications.
Precision Alignment = Unlimited Travel – Precise alignment and joinable rails allow for nearly unlimited travel distances.
Broad temperature range – Induction hardened for long life in harsh environments; such as temperature extremes (-4°F-176°F, -20°C-80°C).
High Speed/Acceleration – Precision Dual V-Wheels are preloaded to ensure smooth and quiet low friction travel, even under high loads, allowing for quick and precise linear motion.
Why IVT?
Integral V™ takes the benefits of V-guides and combines them with simplified alignment and drastically less required mounting components—meaning less labor and a lower total installed cost. This results in a complete, easy-to-specify, cost-efficient linear guide system that provides smooth, quiet and precise linear motion throughout the life of the product.
In the past, machine construction choices composed of either steel weld mounts or aluminum/steel framing with linear guides bolted to them. To facilitate the installation of the linear guide systems it was necessary to pre-machine the mounting surfaces, provide bolt holes and hours of tedious alignment. Parallelism, straightness and flatness all must be accounted for and corrected to support the most accurate travel possible. Any minor inaccuracy along the rail or machine surface can create carriage misalignment and faulty linear guidance. After alignment, the older systems need an arsenal of mounting components to accurately bolt the modular rail down and prevent further misalignment that could present itself as time goes on. Generally, the alignment/mounting process takes days of added labor, causing cost and time to severely increase.

For aluminum structural framing, machinery aligning and mounting still demand hours of labor when done properly. Mounting plates must be accurately and consistently machined, structural framing needs to be drilled and tapped, finally the entire linear system needs to be precisely aligned and installed. However, even after this process, due to the natural bow, twist and warp in the framing, inaccuracies are still present and continue to lower overall performance and precision.
The New Solution: Integral V™
Integral V™ linear guides solve the common and persistent problems of the old technology at the beginning. Using PBC Linear’s patent pending SIMO™ process (Simultaneous Integral Milling Operation), an IVT extrusion can be precisely machined on all critical edges with little to no added costs to the end user. SIMO™ takes an ordinary aluminum extrusion and machines all critical sides concurrently and consistently in one, quick pass. This creates precise mounting and alignment surfaces—ensuring straightness, parallelism and flatness.
Cold rolled steel V-race inserts run along the extrusion, supporting extremely tight tolerances (±.001’’) for smooth travel and no stack-up! The aluminum extruded body and steel inserts give the overall system lightweight durability without sacrificing strength. Dowel pins allow each extrusion length to fit easily and seamlessly together for unlimited travel. The end result is a complete, precision-machined linear guide system that rolls smoothly under tight tolerances with less mounting components and no alignment time! Plus, the system installs in minutes. For cost-effective linear guidance that is configured to meet the customer’s needs, IVT is the product!
High Performance Carriages
Integral V™ Technology has several application-specific design options for carriages. Whether the customer needs an extended or standard carriage, flat plate or t-slots, fixed, adjustable or with our patent pending side adjustability, we have the carriage. Each carriage option has been optimally designed for speed, acceleration, and high loads to meet the highest in customer satisfaction.
